Needing a SOT23-8 footprint

I’ve done a search, and found that this was an issue with a posted solution about 6 years ago, but that solution is no longer available (as far as I can tell). I have a board under way with a MAX4468, and this has been a major hangup.

Tutorial Video: PCB with Cutout's

I made a Video Tutorial on Making a PCB with Cutouts. Quick & Simple
Posted on YouTube: This Is The Link

I’ve posted several Tutorials on this subject (at this site) with quickly made GIF videos using various Graphic Programs.

This Video shows How-To-Do-It using InkScape.

Notice, I did not need to fuss making Paths…etc.

Briefly, The Steps are:
• Create a File with Layers (too basic so, not included in Video)
• Draw the PCB and Cutouts
• Color as desired
• Path Difference them
• Save
• Load into Fritzing

A Useful (Trick) Approach for Posting Info...etc

$

It used to be easy to post info/etc files until this sites redesign.

However, it dawned on me to try posting Text info using the Code Panel in a Ftirzing project.
It works!

Attached is Fritzing file with XML for a PCB with one cutout and silkscreen.

an_XML_inCodePanel.fzz (1.4 KB)

Copy the XML text and Paste it into a Text document, save it with .svg extension.
Don’t use ‘Rich Text’, use ‘Plain’ text setting.

Then, it can be loaded into Fritzing as the PCB Image… :grinning:

Air hockey project

Hello

So I am making this project robotic air hockey, here you can see little demo:

As it is my master thesis, I need to have a proper documentation of electronic components.

Huge thanks to Peter (vanepp), who has helped me a lot to get most of my components I needed as a fzpz parts.

Here is my BB view:

air_hockey.fzz (260.5 KB)

I am still missing proper LED strip in my fritzing project. I used RGB strip, however, I am using white LED.

The one I use is here:

http://hgytec.com/led_strip_light/240-LED-12v-24v-10mm-width-2835-led-strip-light.php

Would anybody be able to make it as a fzpz part please?

I am also asking for commenting my fritzing design (only BB view since I probably won´t need to export schematics).

Did I ruin anything? I am not an expert in electronics and drawing schemes.

This component has been around for some time and is pretty common. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a Fritzing part for it… until now! This is my first part and now that I figured out how to put it all together, I’ll be sharing more.

Little advice to make new components

$

Hi guys.
I’d like to learn how to design new components for Fritzing. It is not a problem, I am quite independent in my things, I have learned to use inkscape and I have seen the examples, it seems possible.

I would like to understand only if it is possible to design components with double layer contacts. For example I would like to design the following component: https://www.c64-wiki.com/wiki/Cassette_Port
and https://storage.googleapis.com/3d_model_images/498/4987030/tape-port-casing-commodore-64-3d-model-roxXj9FxV_200.jpg

I would only like to understand (in words) how to design the breadboard side. I imagine that the component will not be directly connected to the breadboard but will be “flying”.

Any kind of help will be appreciated.

Hello, Peter can you check this problem…

I was Modifying one of my old part…
After hours of editing every view, I just faced a very new problem in DRC…

There are invisible Copper pad appears in that part…
I only edited the design, Tried new creation / edit over core file… Also edited on inkscape, But problem still same…

I make the trace thicker to see full GHOST copper pads…

Here is the screenshot in short…

Here is the file, 42. 7 Segment Display CC.fzpz (28.9 KB)

I submitted this part before, that was working good…
I didn’t find any error in svg xml…
Also, checked everywhere if old part file left anywhere, but nothing…

Is this only happening on my PC…!!! :cold_sweat: :cold_sweat:

Two dumb questions - +5B and grnd plane

$

Hi there - I’m totally new to Fritzing and pretty new to electronics, so please forgive my ignorance.

  1. How can I add a symbol that corresponds to +5V/VCC - similar to the standard symbol for ‘Grnd’ (a series of parallel lines, forming a simple triangle)? I’d like it so thatI can use this symbol where appropriate, without having to draw an explicit connection.

  2. In the PCB view, why can’t I seen the Grnd/earth wiring? Is it because it forms the bulk of the PCB?

With thanks for any help!

Hallo,

Maybe you can help me. I have to mount Wago pin headers with a pitch of 3.5. I don’t find a grid spacing of 3.5, but only others like 2.5 or 2.54 … etc.
How do i get grid spacing 3.5 out ???

Bug: can't dismiss 'About' box

$

I clicked on the ‘About Fritzing’ menu item, and the about message window popped up, as expected. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a way of dismissing the window, apart from terminating the application, using Command-Q (I am running on MacOS).

Normally, it should be possible to dismiss the About box by either pressing Escape or moving the focus outside of the window - e.g. using the mouse.

Fritzing 0.9.4 (beta!), running on MacOS 10.15.4 Catalina.

Please also attach any files that help explaining this problem

Panasonic AQY212GH Part

Hello,

After some advice from this forum I’ve decided to move to this part, but it doesn’t appear to have a fritzing part on the catalogue or on the internet, and I’ve definitely not got the skills to make the part myself (at least not yet). So I’m hoping one you awesome people could please make it for me?

I know that’s a big ask, so no problem if you can’t, but thanks so very much if you can.

Can I export my project?

$

Hello all.

I’m working on a project that I’m modelling in Fritzing both for the breadboard and PCB.

I’ve added some non-catalogue parts mostly thanks to vanepp (thanks again!).

What I want is to be able to send over what I have to them so that they can work on the project too, but sending the .fzz doesn’t do the trick, even when I send over the parts seperately.

Also I’d like a neat way of doing this so that I’m able to share it on GitHub publicly as part of the project I’m doing (all free and as a hobby). Where do we stand on me putting parts that aren’t in the catalogue on GitHub, is that a breach of copyright/IP?

Thanks, James.
