This one needs fixing to make it good, but it works.

Don’t know how to draw a glass wheat bulb in BB view.
For some reason the outline is grey in PCB view.

Steps I took that resulted in the problem:
Extended stripboard beyond the default value. The extended area is created as all tracks connected matrix, not strips.

What I expected should have happened instead:
Stripboard with strips appearing to extended area

Hi all,
for my actual project i’m using a Recom R-78E5.0-0.5 SIP3 switching voltage regulator.
Sadly i couldn’t find that part in fritzing :confused:
Is there anything similar i can use for creating a pcb with this part or have i just missed it?

Thank you very much!

Solder mask keepout issues

@amowry wrote:

Fritzing doesn’t seem to be using a consistent keepout distance around my SMD pads. In the attached image, you can see that some pads have no keepout, some have a small keepout of around 2 mils, and some have the “normal” keepout of 6 mils. Even within identical pads on the QFN part, some pads have no keepout and some have alarge keepout that bleeds together. Any ideas what is causing this? Does inconsistency in SVGs for parts influence this somehow (maybe strike width??)

Thanks!

What I expected should have happened instead:

Hello everyone,
I am French and I am a beginner on Fritzing as well as on this forum.
I wish I could create a stripboard like the one visible in this photo :

(I have many breadboards like this one)
I have watched this video several times, but I do not understand how the guy came to create this streapboard on Fritzing :

Is it possible ? If yes, how ?
Thank you for your help

Does an Arduino Uno Mega Shield SD Card ICSP SPI Exists Already?

@Eddiie wrote:

Hi,

Very new to Fritzing, it is awesome! Thank you.

I have a test shield for the Uno that has a built-in SD card. My project has exceeded the capacity of an Uno and was looking to use a Mega 2560. Plugged in my card only to find the SPI pins on the mega have moved to the ICSP header. Most of my shields use the SPI pins on the Uno, 11, 12, 13 I believe they are…

It seems one can make an adapter shield with jumpers of some sort that can ‘map’ the functionality of the SPI pins between 11, 12, 13 to the ICSP header, maybe another setting to make the pins pass-thru to other shield, etc.

Before going down this path, surely someone has done this already or there is some obvious problem that I am missing.

Let’s say I have to make one or decide to make one of my own for whatever reason… The ICSP header I would want to use would be a long pinned female type connector pass-thru hole … ? I did not find this part in the large list of parts. Am I missing it?

Lastly, if I add my own SD card, is there a chip of some sort needed? Or do the pins go directly to the ICSP pins? My existing shield looks like it has a real small ship with no markings that I can see.

Thank you!

Bendable Legs disconnect part when moved

Steps I took that resulted in the problem:

It’s probably not worth reporting, but if you complete the SCH with it’s connections and go back to BB view and bend a leg, that parts becomes disconnected.
In fact if you do SCH view first and try to do BB after you can’t grab legs on small pin parts to bend them because the mouse click always grabs the ratsnest first.

What I expected should have happened instead:

Part stay connected in the circuit

Arduino shield and ICSP Headers

@Eddiie wrote:

I am making an Arduino shield of sorts. It is almost ready but I need a couple parts to finish it off.

Is there parts out there for the Arduino headers with the long pins and female headers? Same for the ICSP pins?

If not, I’d like to just leave the usual solder holes and I’ll source the parts myself. I cannot seem to find a simple hole for soldering pins on a through-hole component. I find the mounting hole object.

Thanks!

Sorry, back again

I made this circuit based on a vid from The Signal Path because it’s simple. The circuit has to be simple, cheap, with easy to find parts.

When I apply 5V - voltage doesn’t makes much difference - it only puts out 55V across C1, when I need 300V.
The only transformers I could find were in old transistor radios, so is the transformer wrong?
I did some Googling and it said the only way to work out unknown transformers is test and measure.

Just the power side so far.

Micro sdCard Part

@opera_night wrote:

In another link, I posted info on the sdCard Adapter I use (senmod sdhc adapter). I’ve used them enough now that I decided to make a ‘Part’ for it.

Info:
• I like big pads so, the pads are for my preference and my cause you DRC errors (depending upon your DRC settings). My DRC settings are for 0.010 inch Keepout to avoid error. (FYI - you can ignore these errors and export the gerbers).

• I prefer to lay the adapter parallel with the PCB using a 90º Pin Header. Therefore, in the PCB layout, the Pin’s are reversed and enclosed in a dashed box. The Breadboard and Schematic views are as normal. As there are no internal connections, you can ignore pin labels and hook-up as you prefer. Of course, you don’t need to lay it parallel to PCB - your preference…

• I also prefer larger text so the pin#'s are readable.

My pcb is 20x22mm. The quote price from manufacture is the same upto 50x50mm. I am finding the way to make multiple pcbs on one gerber file. This case can have 4 pcs on 50x50 order and when it arrives I will cut it by myself to four pieces.

The problem is how can I generate 4 PCBs in one Gerber file.

But it should be possible to VCC fill the opposite layer of the board, and it should be possible to mark a pin as VCC Seeded.
