MCP23017-on-PCB-Vertical-Stackable-V1.fzz
Got a new part. Format .fzz. Want to share design but unclear for me how to do as “Share” button Fritzing does not support share (better webpages is not supporting it currently).
Found reference to Forum “parts submit” but even here it is unclear how to upload design.
How and where can I upload a design.

5630 / 5730 smd led
Something like: https://lighthouseleds.com/5630-5730-smd-cool-clear-white-ultra-bright-led.html
New to the platform - would I need to create a custom part or is there some kind of generic that would work for this?

Camper/Caravan/Solar Wiring
Hi, new user so please be gentle
I really like the looks of this tool and the way it works, but although it seems dedicated to electronics, seems to me that it would be pretty straightforward to use it to build a circuits for campers, caravans, boats and so on.
Any objections from the community?

Can't change Generic Shrouded Header properties
Steps I took that resulted in the problem:
I placed a Generic Shrouded Header into my sketch. I’m able to change its form and number of pins with the Inspector panel, but any attempt to change the row, position, or package parameters is immediately reverted back to the default. See the attached image, where both single and double are listed as options. When I click single, it displays as selected for an instant, then flashes back to double, not actually changing the component.
What I expected should have happened instead:
I’d expect to be able to change all the parameters that have options listed. Specifically, I’d like to change the headers to single row shrouded male header.
My version of Fritzing and my operating system:
I’m on Fritzing Version 0.9.4, and I’m running OSX Mojave, Version 10.14.6

Edit a led to represent a photodiode
I am creating a tachometer using a infrared led and a photodiode. I found the ir led but the photodiode looks a little unwieldy. I would like a photodiode that is shown as a black led with the two arrows pointed to the led, not away. Is there a part available for the photodiode, or is there a way I can copy an existing diode and change the color and arrow orientation? Thanks

Small Part single-line stripboard connector
Hi everybody,
I’m using Fritzing for documtation of a “beradboarded” project. I will not create a PCB from it. This project has maybe 8-10 parts which are modules, Those parts are connected through screwterminals. I prefer a documentantation in the breadboard-View. Each module needs to be connected to a 5V powersupply.
On circuit-schematics a branch in a wire that must be connected is drawn with a dot.
So I want to connect the breadboard-view-wires in the same way “branching”
I tried to set the size of stripboard to 1 row 3 columms but this did not work.
It is great that fritzing has so many parts build in. But the searchfunction is kind of poor.
Does there exist a part that works like two, three or four-whole single-line strip-board?
best regards Stefan

Iduino Rotary Encoder SE055
A very basic part, missing in the libraries.
Well, here it is.
To be more specific: it’s the IDUINO Rotary Encoder SE055 which is a rotary encoder with push button soldered on a PCB. For more details about the element: https://www.conrad.com/p/iduino-rotary-encoder-1-pcs-se055-1485328

All diodes in my left side are hurting
Didn’t want to start with “I am so depressed” (Marvin from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams), but I am slightly miffed.
I want to repair an old game console (a PONG-like CONIC box) for Awesome Space in Utrecht, and for this I want to trace part of the PCB. Now I do also want that schematic to look nice - so I need some PCB CAD software.
From Ubuntu, I know KiCAD, but I could not successfully install it (looks like something is broken with the binary file generation for Win64).
Looking for alternatives, I found Fritzing.
And I recognized the style of some Arduino and breadboard layouts I have seen in the past, so why not giving it a a try.
Ok, the first ‘interesting’ thing is the Paywall. EUR8 is not much, thought, and I do understand why you need to ‘ask’ some money for the download.
What drives me slightly mad, however, is that I can not just pay 8EUR, and download a file.
To pay I DO need to sign up with PayPal. It is not possible to pay as a guest (anymore?).
Now that’s not the biggest evil of all time or something, but I do not like to be forced to something. Most people don’t like that. I am no exception. I nearly walked away.
Not happy.
Apart from that, I am a normal guy, born in DE, living in NL since 2015, day job is developing software for both embedded systems and a full-stack setup. I like tinkering with electronics and FPGAs, retro games (and new ones).
Regards,
Tagon

Making Changes to Pin Header Icon
I have been successful modifying a 2-row, 10-pin, shrouded male pin header connector from the Connectors location in the Core Parts Bin. My modified pin header connector is a 10-pin, single row, male-male pin header.
I was able to tell Fritzing that I wanted to make this 10-pin connector into a 9-pin connector. The drawing shows the last, or 10th connector pin displayed a different color from the nine pins above above the 10th pin.
Is there some way I can modify this 9 pin connector icon to show only 9 pins?

No line under bolt head
Hello,
I am designing a PCB the will be bolted into a box. So I make 3mm holes on my PCB.
I want NO line to go to close from my hole (let say 2mm) when auto-routing so that they be not damaged or short circuited when tightening
like that:
thank you

Uncopleted Gerber files for Aisler
Hi folks, I’m using a custom board file, this is the result when I go to see the uploaded file on the Aisler site.
Looking with Gerbview the file is broken, incomplete. The figure of the board and of the inside hole appears open on one side. The same side for both the shape, the top side, in both the solutions I tried: horizontal and vertical.
I checked the SVG files using the etchable SVG files and all appear right

this is also evident on the Aisler website

As far as I could understand on the forum, this belongs to the Fritzing Gerber compiler.
Does Anyone have ideas or solutions about it?
Otherwise please shell you take this like information for the next program upgrading.
I would like the forum administrator to be kind to me if I have not respected the forum rules, but I care a lot about this project and Fritzing I feel it like a warm sweater in winter.
many thanks.

Schematic "Terminal Point" vs connector?terminal
A small rectangle is sometimes added to the end of a pin in the Fritzing schematic editor (calling it, say connector1terminal) to allow connecting a wire to the end (instead of the middle) of a pin it’s added to -> connector1pin. Two questions:
- When assigning a graphic to a connector in schematic edit mode using “Select graphic”, is connector1terminal chosen instead of connector1pin?
- Since the schematic edit mode has a choice of where a wire is to be connected via “Center W N S E”, is connector1terminal even necessary and if not, can all of them be eliminated from the schematic .svg?

How do I make a schematic or block diagram?
Create new part,
Hello Fritz Forum,
I need create a part for a PIR sensor HC-SR505. The tutorial
says
’ To create a part from scratch, open the Part Editor under Part > New in the menu bar.
When Part is clicked on there is no "New’. There is ‘Edit (new parts editor)’ but it is greyed out.
There is also Export, Flip Horizontal, Flip vertical. But they are also greyed out. Then there is Rotate, Raise and Lower, Align , Select All locked Parts, Add to bin,…
Select outdated parts, Find part in sketch, Regenerate parts database.
No ‘New’
How does one create a new part?
Thanks.
