Resistor Placement

@smilliken wrote:

I'm starting to build a test board using a small perf board. I placing several LED's on the board and basically, at this point, that is what the board will do. There are 22 LED's and I have broken them up to use 4 LED's per resistor. I have looked on-line and find people place the resistor at the start of the 4 and have also seen it placed at the end of the LED line.

Which is correct?

Problem with PCB created with Fritzing

@joshbg2k wrote:

Hi all, I've used Seeed several times to order PCBs that I created in Fritzing. This time I either have a defect in production or hit a bug in Fritzing. I'm not sure which. I am asking here because, although production service through Seeed is very good, their customer service can be poor and I'd like a second opinion.

If you glance at the image here http://imgur.com/a/c8Ftv you'll see some trace lines that are not connected to the through hole plating. I've circled these issues in red. The connections look fine in Fritzing and there are no errors in the design check, and I always run the check at least 10 times before I send the files off for production.

So what's the opinion here? Was this a manufacturing error or my error? If you need more information evaluate this, I am happy to provide it. Thanks!

Hello,

I got stuck in a problem, that I no idea how to solve. Maybe you guys can help :slight_smile:

I want to place an Arduino UNO Rev 3 on top of a png img I uploaded using the logo part trick (a print screen attached in the end). But the "Bring to Front" action, just doesnt work. Why? You have an idea what I can do about it?

Thanks,

IR control using an Atari IR joystick, possible matched pair usage

This post applies to the MEGA BREAD project, ultimately destined to be a robotics station for my son.

ISSUES:
* Linking the IR series Atari joystick controller to the Arduino MEGA2560 (DONE)
* Read the current command code sent from the controller (DONE)
* Read the release code from the controller (DONE)
* Set timings
* Link second IR controller

Now my questions:
* During the receiving stage, there will be irregularities.
* Quickly get any type of average
* OR, Require the signal be sent twice

Drill size does not match the copper hole size

I am fairly new to Fritzing but have successfully made custom Board SVG's and two custom parts but all of a sudden my latest part is having issues and after two days of variations and googling I can not find the answer.

The copper rings turn out the correct size but the drill hole is tiny.

I have attached the part as exported from Fritzing.
IN-16 Nixie Tube.fzpz (13.3 KB)

( I tried uploading the pictures separately but as a new user I am not allowed).
(pic 1) You can see the copper holes are fairly large (0.75mm hole with a 0.275mm ring)
(pic2) They show up correctly in Fritzing PCB view.
(pic3) But once you export it as Gerbers the holes are tiny. Even smaller than the via's.
(pic 4) As you can see on the bottom right board the drill holes (in the circle pattern)

All sorts of fail converting Schematic to Bread Board

Fritzing BB View:

Total n00b: I am trying to layout my breadboard based this schematic, but I'm not sure if I've even come close. The LM34 in the graphic is actually a SS494B hall effect sensor. The schematic view in Fritzing is all sorts of wrong, and I assume the PCB view is as well.

Basically I wired all of this up, and I still get millivolts at what should be the Pin 7 to Arduino. I don't seem to get any amplification at all at pin 1. My assumption was that i translated the Schematic to the BB completely wrong. How off am I?

Hello,
I like to know if it"s possible to have 2 already designed pcb's in a new file.
I designed 2 pcb's and now I just want to interconnect them using Fritzing for making an understandable big picture!

Does anyone have experience in doing this?

Cheers,

Ping Finder SEN136B5B

@lanzooo48 wrote:

I need to make a Fritzing Diagram for my robot (it is required as well as building the actual robot) plus it does help when I go to install everything.

I have this Ultrasonic Range Finder (made by Seeedstudio) and Arduino seems to have the actual part (via link below) but it is not in the Fritz libraries.

https://www.arduino.cc/en/tutorial/ping

In Fritz there is already an ultrasonic range finder but this has 4 pins and the one I have (SEN135B5B) only has 3 pins. I have searched Github and contacted Seeedstudio also with no luck.

Can anybody please help! Or know where I can find this part?

Thank you

Can't move part to other side

@sublimeartistry wrote:

I decided to change the schematic image on my IN16 Nixie tube part and after updating the image I am now unable to select which side of the board the part is on. It will appear on which ever side is clickable when placing a new part but you are not given an option in the inspector to change the side once placed. This has ruined the last saved version of my board that was open when I changed the graphic. I tried deleting my new version and importing the old one but the problem persists. I have also rebuilt the parts library but that did not help. Does anyone know the solution? Is there a way to change which side the part is on by editing a file or something as a worst work around?

Here is a sketch with just two of the parts placed on either side of the board during placement but I can't change their sides.
Example.fzz (15.1 KB)
And here is the latest version of my part with the correct schematic image

Serial Monitor help Arduino

$

@lanzooo48 wrote:

Hello I am having trouble with the Serial Monitor in Fritzing.

I have multiple tabs in fritzing for different sensors. I tested one sensor and the serial monitor opened fine and produced the values I needed. Now when I upload another sensor code and open the serial monitor it still produces the readings from the old sensor code.

I tried clearing the serial monitor but with no luck.

Anybody run into this problem before?

This is all for the Arduino platform. Everything is linked up fine because when I copy the code from fritizing and then open the Arduino software separately it works fine. I can do this but it is annoying to have to keep opening a separate tab to test my code.

Thanks
